2019 Passing Score Update

The passing score for this test was updated on February 26, 2019, based upon New Mexico Public Education Department policy. The new passing score is 220 and replaces the former passing score of 227.

This update is retroactive to January 1, 2019. Examinees whose passing status has changed due to this update will be contacted by PED, and their change in passing status will be updated automatically in their file with PED. There is no action needed on the examinee’s part.

Examinee score reports will be updated to reflect the new passing score as of tests taken after April 21, 2019.

• Tests taken Jan 1– to April 21, 2019: Your score report will display a passing status based on the previous passing score. However if you scored at 220 or above PED will automatically apply a change in passing status to your records. There is no action needed on your part.
• Tests taken on or after April 22, 2019: Your score report will display an accurate passing status based on the new passing score of 220.
